WelcomeThis is a companion site to the San Francisco Psychotherapy Research Group website, dedicated to the application and extension of Control-Mastery theory, which was developed by San Francisco psychotherapist Joseph Weiss, who passed away on November 7, 2004. The "Popular Articles" section is is dedicated to helping the vast majority of people who would never seek therapy. Articles range from discussions of psychological realities using movie characters as illustrative examples to full-blown case histories derived from the psychoanalytic literature. The object of these articles is to provide readers with insights that may prove helpful in their daily lives. The "Academic Articles" section offers extensions of Control-Mastery theory primarily in terms of new theories of sleep and dreaming and a reinterpretation of Control-Mastery theory in terms of attachment theory.
